Operational Purchaser

Step into the role

As an Operational Purchaser at MilDef, you will play an important role in securing material availability, supplier follow-up, and accurate purchasing processes. In a time of significant rearmament and increasing demand within the defence sector, your work will help ensure that production, logistics, and business needs are supported by reliable deliveries, strong supplier collaboration, and efficient ways of working.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare purchase orders based on business needs and supplier quotations.

• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery status, and deviations.

• Resolve discrepancies, delays, and supplier-related quality issues.

• Maintain accurate supplier and order data in the ERP system.

• Support supplier performance reviews, price monitoring, and corrective actions.

• Coordinate with production, engineering, logistics, finance, sales, and quality.

• Provide documentation and reports for audits, compliance, and management decisions.

What you bring

• 3+ years of experience in operational purchasing, including ERP-based order processing as well as supplier communication and negotiation

• Technical understanding and post-secondary vocational diploma or equivalent professional experience

• Experience resolving order discrepancies, delivery delays, and supplier non-conformances.

• Strong proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• Preferably experience from manufacturing, supply chain, or the defence industry, with knowledge of supplier evaluation or BI tools.
