Strategic Purchaser, Development Projects

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for procurement and product development? Roxtec is expanding, and we are looking for a Strategic Purchaser to join our team in Karlskrona. In this role, you will contribute to the development of new, innovative sealing solutions, ensuring optimal supplier collaborations to drive product success from concept to production.

The position
As Strategic Purchaser at Roxtec, you will play a key role in development projects for new products. You will collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, production teams and suppliers to source and secure materials and components that meet our high standards for service, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Your ability to engage suppliers early in the development process and drive strategic sourcing decisions will be essential.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing in development projects – identify and evaluate suppliers for new product components, ensuring alignment with technical and business requirements.
• Early supplier involvement – work closely with R&D and engineering teams to integrate supplier expertise in the design phase.
• Procurement strategy development – define and implement sourcing strategies that support innovation, quality, and cost-efficiency.
• Supplier relationship management – establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships, negotiating contracts and driving continuous improvement.
• Risk and compliance management – ensure suppliers meet Roxtec’s quality, sustainability, and ethical standards.
• Cost and market analysis – monitor industry trends, assess cost drivers, and identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization.
• Cross-functional collaboration – act as the link between purchasing, R&D, and production to ensure seamless product launches.

Qualifications

• A degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field, or relevant experience in strategic purchasing for development projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably within product development or technical sourcing.
• Strong understanding of supplier involvement in product development.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.
• Driver’s license (B).
• Skilled in negotiation, contract management, and supplier development.
• Proficiency in procurement tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Analytical mindset with a structured and strategic approach.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring time-to-market and cost objectives are met.
