We are currently looking for a Credit Analyst to join Credit Analysis, to cover banks and other financial institutions (insurance and non-bank financial institutions).
Credit Analysis is a key supporting unit for SEB’s Corporate and Investment Banking division and Group Credits. Our credit analysts write incisive analysis to support business and credit decisions makers. A position is open withing Credit Analysis’ Bank and Country Risk Team (B&CR). In addition to country and geopolitical risks, B&CR covers banks, insurance and non-bank financial institutions. This is a great opportunity for a financial analyst with a keen interest on banking, finance and economics, and a desire to contribute to SEB’s global operations.
About the role:
As a Credit Analyst you will work with seven other analysts in the B&CR team. You will learn and be expected to use SEB’s approach to credit risk analysis for financial institutions in both developed and in developing markets.
You are expected to understand the key drivers of credit risk concerning banks or financial institutions. Experience or knowledge about insurance would be seen positively. You will be responsible for monitoring a portfolio of banks and financial institutions on a regular basis, including annual and special reviews. You will present your analysis to SEB’s relevant credit committees and interact with client executives and clients to support business decisions and client relationship.
The position involves occasional travel.
To thrive in this role, we believe you have:
· A minimum of two years of relevant experience as credit or financial analyst, preferably covering financial institutions.
· A master’s degree or equivalent in finance, economics, or equivalent.
· Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Proficiency in English is a prerequisite. Proficiency in Swedish and other international languages is an advantage.
· Experience in understanding and evaluating financial risks as well as a good grasp of various financial instruments is seen as very valuable.
· An analytical mindset as well as a “big picture” perspective.
· Great intrapersonal and communication skills as you will interact with senior decision makers internally as well as at management level with our clients.
· High personal integrity and ability to work both independently as well as in a team. You are expected to be organized and flexible and you can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
