Join Our Team as a Data Scientist at Ahlsell

Are you ready to dive into complex problems and deliver insights that shape our business? Ahlsell is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our central Analytics team. You'll collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Data Analysts in a cross-functional product organization, contributing to projects across sales, sustainability, emission reporting, and financial analytics.

Location:

• Remote work in a distributed team with travel to meet up at our Headquarter at Liljeholmen in Stockholm a couple of times a year.

• Collaborate & Innovate: Work within a dynamic product team, tackling ad-hoc queries and investigations into deep datasets.
• Establish Practices: Elevate our scientific data practices and support business decisions through data-driven insights.
• Testing & Iteration: Guide the business in choosing the right tools and methodologies.

About You:

We are in search of a curious, self-sufficient problem solver who thrives in team environments and enjoys close contact with stakeholders and customers. You strive for high possible professional standards in the ownership of your work, have an open mindset, and a willingness to learn new things. You can bring a business perspective to a technical environment, and navigate well in a cross-functional setting, with the roles and interests of technical and business stakeholders in mind. You are used to tackling loosely defined problems, working autonomously to shape your own perspective of a solution and deliver results accordingly.

Required Skills:

• You have 2+ years of experience in a similar data science role and a degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, or similar quantitative subject areas. An advanced degree is a plus.
• Experienced in data modeling, cleaning, and enrichment
• A strong business sense with laser focus on business value and user impact
• Substantial experience with SQL and have most likely worked with Python or other relevant procedural languages.
• Experience with ELT and building data products and data modelling from both internal and external sources.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in migrating data across platforms
• Experience in Power BI or equivalent eporting tools
• Stakeholder management expertise
• Experience with OLAP databases
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud solutions
• Worked with distributed streaming technologies such as e.g. Kafka, Pub/sub, or similar
• Familiarity with Data Mesh principles and federated data ownership.
• Agile practice with product owners and teams
• Proficiency in at least one Nordic language: Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, or Finnish
