Do you want to play a central role in SEB’s work with Staff Misconduct & Suitability, including internal fraud? SEB is currently looking for an experienced investigator with the ability to tactically balance various interests, including relevant regulations, good practices on the labor market, and internal and external priorities.
Since SEB was founded in 1856, our focus on customers and long-term relationships has been at the heart of our success. We aim to drive positive change by providing capital to help everyone reach their goals and accelerate progress towards a sustainable tomorrow. As a leading financial services group in northern Europe, we'll help you grow and empower you to take on more responsibility to create a real difference. Welcome to SEB.
About the Role:
The digitization of society, geopolitical risks, and evolving financial crime trends have significantly shifted the landscape of risks. To meet these challenges, SEB is strengthening its efforts to ensure ethical and responsible standards, customer protection, and public trust. Staff Investigation is part of Group HR and is responsible for internal investigations involving SEB’s staff. We are now looking for an investigator to join our growing team based in Stockholm.
As an investigator, you will have a crucial role in managing internal investigations related to staff misconduct, focusing on creatively gathering evidence and balancing competing interests. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the bank to sort through and evaluate information, ensuring that only the most relevant findings are clearly and concisely presented to decision-makers. This role demands a proactive and tactical mindset to gather evidence, particularly in complex investigations involving potential staff-related fraud or misconduct. The role may also, over time, include other complex personnel-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal investigations by tactically balancing legal, regulatory, and strategic priorities.
- Creatively identify, gather, and evaluate evidence in investigations, with a particular focus on conducting difficult and complex conversations with employees as a key part of the investigative process.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure thorough and professional investigations aligned with SEB’s interests.
- Clearly structure and present findings to decision-makers.
- Stay informed about emerging crime methods, particularly those related to workplace misconduct, economic crimes, and organized crime.
To thrive in this role, we believe you:
- Have at least four years of experience in investigative work, with a focus on balancing complex interests in a tactful, strategic manner.
- Demonstrate strong skills in gathering, evaluating, and presenting evidence clearly and concisely to decision-makers.
- Possess knowledge of economic or organized crime, or experience in personnel investigations and evidence evaluation. Previous experience working in a banking environment is considered an advantage.
- Have strong collaboration skills, thrive in teamwork, work well with others, and are motivated to support and elevate your colleagues.
- Possess strong communication skills and the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy, as the role involves handling delicate employee matters.
- Experience in managing employee-related vulnerabilities that may impact the workplace is considered valuable.
- Are fluent in Swedish (essential for most investigations) and has strong English skills.
What we offer:
This is an opportunity to play a critical role in SEB’s efforts to combat internal risks and promote a safe and ethical workplace. You will work on challenging, high-impact cases and collaborate with experts across the bank. Additionally, we offer:
· Entrepreneurial Scandinavian environment
· Hybrid work model, meaning remote work is possible up to 2 days/week
· Attractive compensation and access to SEB staff banking with exclusive benefits
