We are now looking for a Senior Engineer to join our team focused on our Energy Optimization Platform (EOP)!

With a battery and Sunbeam's energy optimization, our customers' electricity usage is automatically shifted to cheaper hours, without them having to think about it. The use of solar and battery power is maximized when electricity prices are high, reducing both their energy bills and carbon footprint!

The Role

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping and developing our backend systems to meet current and future needs. You will not only create applications and configure systems but also drive best practices in software design, architecture, and scalability across the engineering team. You'll report to our Engineering Manager Joe.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in requirements analysis and gathering

• Collaborate with internal teams to develop software designs and architectures 

• Write clean and scalable code using C#/.NET

• Establish best practices for testing, deploying, and monitoring applications in production environments

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, mentor engineers in debugging, refactoring, and optimizing code

• Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle

• A deep technical understanding and experience as a Backend Developer (preferably with .NET)
• A deep understanding of software architecture and excellent debugging
• Strong skills in communication and collaboration.
• A solid understanding of architecture styles and APIs
• Familiarity with cloud services (we use AWS)

If you have experience with the following, we are confident that we would be a great match:

• Exposure to microservices and distributed application architecture.
• Understanding of testing strategies and quality assurance practices.
• A willingness to engage in research and development initiatives involving emerging technologies.
