AkzoNobel Supply Chain Trainee

The SCT program is developed to give graduates the opportunity to rapidly develop in AkzoNobel and Integrated Supply Chain, while having an international experience.
During the programme, you will receive on-the-job training across diverse assignments in different areas: Materials Planning, Production planning, Continuous Improvement, Distribution Planning and/or Logistics. At the end of the graduate programme, based on readiness and performance, you will be assigned a final role in discussion with the Regional Supply Chain Organization.
Key Accountabilities
Key Responsibilities during program
- Use of statistical analysis and appropriate business excellence project management processes to identify areas of significant improvement and develops plans to realize the benefits
- Understand and improve Supply Chain Strategy and input into site development plan based on current capabilities.
- Adopt successful ideas from the external world and designs improved systems to meet business needs.
- Understand existing and future capacity plans/constraints (RCCP) at the manufacturing plant and distribution network, and knowledge of how production capacity can be flexed to meet demand
- Uses data analysis and problem-solving methodologies to identify Opportunities to Optimize Inventory and Distribution Costs
- Generate and utilise charts and graphs to identify and analyze losses to prioritize opportunities for improvement
- Optimization of productivity with relevant stakeholders within manufacturing, procurement, logistics and sourcing.
- Participate in the monthly supply reviews, RCCP preparation and review per site on demand.
- Work with Cross Functional Teams and drive Project to reduce Slow moving and Obsolete Items (SLOB)
- Provide impact analysis when needed to show the impact of decisions or scenarios to the plan. Support on reporting where necessary.
- Inputs to inventory strategy including safety stock settings on raw & pack materials for existing, new and phase-out products
- Analysis and improvement of Service Levels using Root Cause Analysis
- Deliver key projects to meet a range of business needs which involves defining requirements, preparing plans, allocating resources and project implementation in line with project management methods and techniques.
- Actively participate in all site health, safety, environment, quality and sustainability activities.
Education
Competencies Required:
- Fresh graduate with a positive attitude – From Bachelor (or Master’s degree) in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical etc.), Supply Chain, Logistics and Business Management.
- Maximum one-year experience
- Exhibit high initiative and leadership in student organizations/extracurricular activities
- Proficient in English (universally understood across other countries)
- Fluent in own local language
- High learning agility and high adaptability
- Critical Thinker with a strong data mindset and problem-solving skills
- Willing to learn & experience different functions/knowledge. Open & proactive to share and exchange.
- Excellent communication skills and inquisitive nature
- Ability to think on his/her feet; and to influence and work as part of a team
- Desire to live the AkzoNobel values and behaviors and cultural principles.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, community and other AkzoNobel visitors on a regular basis.
- Experience of implementing and sustaining continuous improvement manufacturing principles.
- Awareness of Functional Safety legislation and Safety Integrated Systems.
- Open for mobility (domestic & international). Can relocate to other countries on completion of the SCT program
